Designed for SSP and Launceston Airport, Kanamaluka was conceived as a distinctly Tasmanian all-day café celebrating the landscape, produce and character of the region. Named from the Aboriginal word for the Tamar River, the concept draws inspiration from northern Tasmania’s waterways and dramatic natural environment.

CRE8 developed the spatial concept, shared gathering space alongside branding, translating the story across the interior, identity and customer experience. Our scope included concept design, spatial planning, initial brand assets, 3D visualisation and detailed design documentation, providing a clear foundation for the venue’s delivery.

Natural materials, organic forms and a grounded palette create a warm, contemporary setting that connects with the expansive airfield views beyond. Serving locally roasted coffee and Tasmanian produce, Kanamaluka gives passengers a memorable final taste of the region before departure.
