CRE8 transformed an empty site in Christchurch Airport’s International Departures into a destination island bar with a strong, captivating presence. Positioned further down the concourse, Summit was designed to be immediately visible as passengers emerge from Duty Free, creating a clear focal point that draws them into the wider departures environment.

We developed the project end to end, from initial concept, spatial planning and 3D visualisation through to the complete brand identity and guidelines. Our scope extended across every customer touchpoint, including uniforms, digital screen displays, signage and branded collateral, supported by full design documentation and RFI coordination through delivery.

Designed for SSP APAC, Summit offers a calm, elevated retreat inspired by the dramatic landscapes of the South Island. Natural textures, layered forms and a warm, grounded palette create a refined sense of place, while the open island format balances the operational demands of a busy airport with the comfort and character of a contemporary hospitality venue.

Serving local food and thoughtfully crafted drinks, Summit gives travellers a moment to pause, connect and enjoy a final taste of the region before departure.
